So, how does it help you in sport?
As a rider that quit riding for about 15 years, getting back in shape has been challenging. I ride with a group of seasoned riders that for the most part have ridden their entire lives. About 6 years ago I got back on a road bike. The first couple of years were brutal with cramps and muscle fatigue on most every ride. Then the soreness the next few days was not fun either. As I slow got stronger I still had difficulty keeping up. About 6 months ago I purchased the PR lotion and on the first ride noticed it seemed to help. Now I would not ride without it. Not only am I able to keep up, but have set several PR's on my Strava. I am still working to get my conditioning better, but the lotion lets me ride faster, longer and with little to no lactic acid pain the day after the ride. Thanks for getting me back in the game, and letting feel part of my riding group.
I've been using this product for skiing, surfing, and mountaineering since April 2018. I can go harder for longer and I get considerably less sore. At the end of the day, I'm still charging whilst my buddies are going home or can't keep up. The feeling this product gives me is power. Power to go past where I could go before. I ski 220+ days per year, surf 75 days per year and mountain guide 30 days per year. I use this stuff all the time now and I really notice the difference. I just started using for intense leg workouts and I get way less sore than I did without it which leads to faster recovery and more workout and more strength.
I saw PR lotion gaining lots of traction in the MTB world. A lot of my friends and teammates were using it and talking a big game about it. I finally gave it a try during a race and was shocked. My legs felt great during, after, and the next day. It took a huge bite out of the fatigue I routinely feel during a race weekend. Now I won't race or train without it. Such an easy was to get an extra edge!
I have been using the lotion mainly for my lactic threshold sessions. I get through the workouts with less pain and find that I am able to recover for the next day. The biggest plus is not feeling so much of the burning sensation in my hamstrings as much after high intensity interval runs.
As others have said...this lotion is the real deal/a true game changer. I have been training with it for over a month and decided to NOT use it on my recovery ride today. Worst decision I have made in a long time. Legs were tired, heavy, and dull the entire 25 mile ride. I finished up and could barely walk up the stairs. My legs felt as if I had trained 500+ miles last week, but I put no where near that volume in. Going forward, Topical Edge will be on my legs regardless of how heavy or light I plan on riding!
I use this product on my long bike rides of 30 miles or more as well as my long runs of 20+ miles. Sometimes these rides and runs are back to back! When I use this product I am not hardly sore at all the next day and am ready to do my next big workout. I was on the fence about it when I bought it but it has been amazing! Last weekend I did a 10 mile mountain bike race on Saturday while using PR lotion and I was not sore at all during or after my event. I was able to tack the difficult climbs with no burning in my calves at all! The next morning I put on PR lotion again and ran 15 miles and my legs gave me no issues at all during my run or after. I am absolutely amazed! I would recommend this product for anyone.
The first two times I used PR lotion, I won two UCI cyclocross races! Of course, it's become a staple part of my training and racing routine since then. Recently, I competed in 4 events at Sea Otter in 3 days - using PR lotion before and after each one. I won the final event and was amazed how well my legs held up for all of the efforts.
I have always used capsules to stop lactic acid buildup but started using this cream about 2 months ago on my long runs while training for the 2018 NY Marathon. On my 20 and 22 mile runs my legs felt great. In the NY Marathon I got no sore legs until well past 23 miles and not very much. Ended up third in my age group and the least leg pain of any of my previous 27 marathons!
I was skeptical at first but after using in several events, running and cycling, my leg muscles definitely feel less sore than I would have expected. Best benefit is being able to quickly recover same week so I'm able to perform well in back to back events. Kudos for developing a great product !
