Topical Edge and CTS have announced a multi-year agreement beginning immediately that will give CTS coaches, athletes, and camp participants an opportunity to train harder and recover faster with the first and only athletic performance lotion to buffer lactic acid. Partnering with CTS allows Topical Edge to reach a greater number of athletes that can benefit from the sodium bicarbonate lotion that, through clinical trials, has proven to buffer lactic acid, which can lead to improved athletic performance.
"As a pioneer and leader in endurance coaching, partnering with CTS allows us to take the next step to introduce and expand Topical Edge into the CTS network giving their athletes the ability to train harder and recover faster”, said Jeff Byers of Topical Edge. “EDGE is creating a new category as a sports performance lotion; and since at our core, we are a data-driven and science-based biotech company, we are excited to partner with a company that also deeply values science and data driven approaches to sport."
With the vast athlete network and number of events CTS promotes, including training camps, bucket list events, and even the first-year Figueroa Gran Fondo coming this coming November, Topical Edge sees the opportunity to help deliver a performance advantage to the athletes, regardless of whether it’s an elite ultrarunner or someone looking for a PR on a century ride. The ability to train harder and recover faster is the holy grail of athletic improvement, and combining the proper training from CTS with the performance benefits of Topical Edge can help achieve just that.
“Topical Edge is a new product with a lot of potential and we are eager to get it into the hands and onto the skin of more athletes,” said CTS Founder and CEO, Chris Carmichael. “This is about supporting innovation and pushing for what’s next. The methods and data supporting Topical Edge look promising, and it’s legal and safe to use for sport. We are honored to help Topical Edge complete the next steps of achieving broader use of the performance lotion and gathering real athlete data and feedback.”
A pioneering company in the endurance coaching industry, CTS has improved the performance of more than 17,000 athletes over the past 16 years. Founded by renowned coach and author Chris Carmichael and home to more than 40 full-time, professional coaches, CTS provides personal coaching, training camps, and Endurance Bucket List experiences to athletes of all ability levels. This product is phenomenal! Truly is a game changer. Used it recently for my 12+ Hour Spartan Endurance Race that required me running over 30 miles, climbing up mountains, and doing over 65 obstacle courses. Amp Human was critical in me finishing this race! Will continue using it and telling others about it
I am consistently surprised by how well this stuff works. I use it for all my long rides and am much less sore the following day than I expect to be.
I used this for the first time during a half marathon and absolutely loved it! I had almost no pain in my legs, WAY less than normal, and I was able to run longer because of it. Highly recommend this!
I’ve been so happy with PR Lotion. I can push through hard intervals and race with confidence that I do t have to overreach and burn out early. There are plenty other products that make claims, but PR Lotion has the research and results.
I love this stuff. My legs don't cramp, they aren't sore afterwards, and it's become a pivotal part of my pre-race routine.
I have been using the lotion mainly for my lactic threshold sessions. I get through the workouts with less pain and find that I am able to recover for the next day. The biggest plus is not feeling so much of the burning sensation in my hamstrings as much after high intensity interval runs.
The first two times I used PR lotion, I won two UCI cyclocross races! Of course, it's become a staple part of my training and racing routine since then. Recently, I competed in 4 events at Sea Otter in 3 days - using PR lotion before and after each one. I won the final event and was amazed how well my legs held up for all of the efforts.
